Hi I’m Hanna, Marketing co-ordinator and Mum of a 12 month old boy.
When I found out I was pregnant I had all these idealistic dreams of what it would be like. I would knit beautiful baby blankets while growing my bump. (I spent 9 months with my head in the toilet) and cook everything fresh. Kirsty Alsopp came to mind. Well my beautiful baby boy arrived, the knitted blanket hadn’t progressed past 6 rows of stiches and my world had been turned upside down, in a good way! However, this longing to be creative and make beautiful things for my new bundle of joy still festered inside of me so I thought, why not try my hand at sewing. I loved watching the Great British sewing bee, how hard could it be, right?
Ok so I had no sewing equipment what so ever, this is where Mums come in very handy. A quick phone call to my mum and voila I had a lovely little machine on loan for a while.
I will admit my history with sewing is somewhat unsuccessful, a last minute present of a homemade cushion ended in disaster on Christmas eve (I know very last minute) with me not being able to work my friend V’s mums sewing machine, loosing half my cut out fabric pieces and me abandoning it for mince pies and mulled wine. This incident resulted in the below birthday present from V. Never the less, I am determined to be good at this.
All in all, this is my attempt to fit in something I enjoy around my crazy and busy life.
